"Crossover Collar Aran"
Knitting Pattern to make a Fisherman Sweater
for Tonner's 16" Tyler Wentworth & friends

ITEM DESCRIPTION
Brenna, my repaint by Jenise Mah, and Central Park Stroll Sydney model the sweaters you can create with this pattern--detailed Aran sweaters with a lapped shawl collar.

Made from a fine-gauge wool yarn (see suggested supplies at the end), these sweaters have an intricate pattern of diamonds on the front as well as braided cables up the shoulders.  You can choose to make your sleeves with the braided cables (pictured on the brown sweater) or with the diamonds (pictured on the purple and green sweaters).  I also offer directions for three different placements for the shawl collar.

The sweater is fitted for a trim look, and is completely open in the back for ease of dressing.  The sweater is knit from the waist up, while the set-in sleeves are knitted separately and sewn in.

Pattern Basics
This pattern is of medium difficulty.  You should have some experience with doing cables, know how to increase & decrease, and be able to follow basic knitting instructions.

Suggested Supplies
I used fine fingering weight yarn for this project. For Tyler I preferred the result of using "Palette" from knitpicks.com.  The brown sweater is made from "Comfy" from the same site, but seemed to be a bit larger and looser.  Palette is wool & has 231 yards in a 50 g ball, while Comfy is a cotton acrylic blend with 215 yards in a 50 g ball.  My gauge in stockinette with size 0 needles was 20 stitches & 26-27 rows.

You will need knitting needles in sizes 0 & 000 (2 & 1.5 mm), fingering weight yarn, matching needle & thread, 6 size 4/0 snaps for closure, and a yarn needle.
