"Yoking Around" Cabled Yoke Sweater
A Sweater Pattern for Ellowyne Wilde
or Tonner's Tyler Wentworth
ITEM DESCRIPTION
This pattern includes written instructions and charts for "Yoking Around," a mock
turtleneck sweater with a cabled yoke, along with an optional hat or tam pattern.
The sweater's yoke is knitted first, and then the neck and body are picked up and knit
off the edges of the yoke. The sweater fits both Ellowyne Wilde and Tonner's Tyler Wentworth.
This pattern is my own design, inspired by the loved yoked sweaters currently available
for humans.

This is a fun and challenging pattern. The tiny cables on the neck, cuffs, and ribbing are twisted from
the reverse side with a method that doesn't require a cable needle.
Instructions
are also included to make a matching hat or floppy tam for either Ellowyne or Tyler.
Suggested Supplies Both
of these sweaters were knit using needles in US sizes 0 & 000 (2 & 1.5mm). For the tan sweater I used KnitPicks
Palette, an inexpensive fingering weight wool yarn available from knitpicks.com. The green sweater was knit with Essential
Sock, also available from Knitpicks. I felt the cables looked better with Essential, which is slightly more expensive,
but very soft.
Finishing is done using needle, yarn & thread. I recommend using 5-6
sets of small snaps for the back closure.
