"Curved & Cabled"
Cable-Edged Shrug or Sweater
A Knitting Pattern for Kish's 14" Lark & Friends
ITEM DESCRIPTION
This pattern includes written instructions for "Curved & Cabled," a sweater pattern,
knit neck-down for Lark & friends. There are a multitude of options. You can begin the sweater with a hood
(simpler) or a mandarin collar (more complex). You can end the sweater with a straight hem (simpler) or a curved bottom
(more complex). You can make the sweater shrug length or long.

My pattern uses short rows to create the curves for the mandarin collar and the curved
bottom. This pattern is my own original design.
You can finish the sweater with a small zipper (like this one from www.tinyzippers.com) or with buttons and crocheted button loops.

The short row technique is a little challenging at first, but becomes very natural once you've used it
for a while.
Suggested Supplies Lark & Piper's sweaters were
knit using needles in US sizes 0 & 000 (2mm & 1.5mm). I used KnitPicks Palette and Essential, inexpensive
fingering weight wool yarn available from www.knitpicks.com. A 50 gram ball of yarn (231 yards, 7-8 stitches per inch on size 1-3 needles) is enough to make
a long hooded sweater with some left over.
Finishing is done using needle, yarn & thread or crochet hook and yarn.
