"Versatile & Variegated"
Yoked Fair Isle Sweaters
A Knitting Pattern for 14" Kish Chrysalis Dolls
Lark, Wren, Raven & others

ITEM DESCRIPTION
This pattern includes written instructions for "Versatile & Variegated," five different fair isle yoked sweaters, knit neck-down for Helen Kish's 14" Chrysalis dolls.  Not all of the patterns are shown here--they include three separate snowflake patterns, a hearts pattern, and the flower pattern shown below.

Instructions are also included to make matching hats.

These pattern are my own design, inspired by a variety of existing sweaters, including several from Dale of Norway.

One of the reasons I love these projects is because they require less finishing work.  You knit the turtleneck first, then knit the sweater from the neck down.  The only seams required are the arm and underarm seams.

The advantage of only having fair isle on the yoke is ease of dressing.

Suggested Supplies
All of these sweaters are knit using needles in US sizes 1, 0 & 000 (2.25, 2 & 1.5mm).  I used KnitPicks Palette & Essential, an inexpensive fingering weight wool yarn available from www.knitpicks.com.  The flowers sweater was knit using Dale Baby Ull, a slightly heavier weight yarn than Palette.

Each sweater uses about 35-40 grams of yarn (Palette has 231 yards in a 50 gram ball).  I have three-pack bags of small 6 gram balls of the three gray yarn colors shown in my example cardigans, available for $1.00.  Email if you are interested.

Finishing is done using needle, yarn & thread.  I recommend using 5-6 sets of small snaps for the back closure.
